Hello, last day my superjet (2004) suddenly stopled cranking when i hit the start button. NOTHING, battery was suddendly completely flat! I changed battery and measured the voltage, but the engine was not charging the battery. So i took apart the electonic box and did some measurements.
I measured the coil (ohms) in the flywheel. 1.2 Ohm (spec says it should be between 1.12 and 1.4 Ohm, so thats good.
I measured the AC voltage of the coil, at idle its around 20V, And goes up when you hit the throttle.
I measured the ohmic values of the disconnected voltage rectifier. It was all in the range of MEGA Ohms. This told me that the regulator was broken, so i thought. I went to buy a new regulator (aftermarked). I measured this one before installing, and again, i measured values in the range of MegaOhms, between all the wires. When i installed it, it didnt work. Today i found an rectifier from a honda outboard, and when i measure the resistance, it is again in the range of MegaOhms?
The spec from yamaha of what the resistance should be is in the attachment. Its all in the range of KiloOhms. Am i measuring wrong? Or am i in bad luck and did i test 3 broken rectifiers?
And btw, is there someone with a rectifier, that can measure the resistance between the wires, and tell me wat the result are?
Ohmmeter is no the problem. This works great, expensive Fluke, works as it should
