Repairing a Midshaft Insert

Was getting one of my skis ready for pismo and found this. How would you guys go about fixing it? Thickened epoxy just to glue it back in? Do I need to fully remove the insertminorder to glue behind it? Theremis a small ap I may be able to squeeze some behind it. Looking for opinions. And kind of quick.

If it will come out I'd remove it, scuff all sides with 24 grit, scuff hole, clean with alcohol or brake clean, and use thickened epoxy. You could grind a small recess in the hull with a roloc disc and glass over, then block it level with hull. That's a bit extreme and a bit if a pita. If you add glass to the front, it will mess with alignment. If you recess it and block it, you're good.
The epoxy should be fine if you remove and get all sides scuffed and covered. Use a bead of silicone when you install the housing, and it won't move.

Good idea. I'm gonna give it a shot here in a bit. I'll know tonight or tomorrow how it went. Thanks guys.

I am not able to get thei set out somim just going to make it sort of runny at first and pour that behind it as best I can. Does anyone know if it's going to be hollow behind the insert?

Put a heat lamp on it earlier since it was cold. It is all done now and the midshaft is back in. Torqued to spec and loctited. I used a syringe to fill up the space behind it with epoxy since I couldn't remove it. I'm confident in the repair. Thanks all
