Removing the green Yamaha sealant??

So now that all my foam is out, should I remove the factory green sealant and replace it with 5200? Also in the bond line should I 5200 that and glass over it or just 5200 it? This is a RN.

I'd remove it. The glue for my rideplate inserts didn't seal at all and 2 of them came of extremely easily in one piece. Use filler in the bondline and reinforce it with glass if you are using polystyrene or styrofoam. It's probably even a good idea if you are using 2 part.

Get all that green goop out, it's heavy.

i replaced all the sealant in my hull with 5200, filled the bondline with epoxy/404 filler and reinforced with fiberglass and carbon like the engine compartment and then filled with 3lb foam. worked great.

so you think a heat gun and a screw driver and just peel it off?

I used a thin chisel and a hammer. Worked great!

same here....plus it melts like butter with an angle grinder
