SXR removing rail caps

Ok so I finally got my order in from Blowsion and will be installing the turf tomorrow. One of the items that came in my order was side rail turf. I practiced a few times on my ski and I think I have the whole turfing thing down but I was wondering if there was a trick to the side rail turf. If any one has some pics of an SXR with the side rail turf it would really help. Will post pics after I'm done. Thanks!

I did this. Works great...put a thin strip of turf padding on the top of your rails first or your elbows will hate you.
If you can find my build thread on my old SXR, it shows how I did the padding.

side turf for the rails is a piece of cake. get an estimate on how big the piece needs to be, cut it and throw the glue on the ski, start at the ski and roll it down. let the extra turf over hang off the ski then when the glue drys go back with a razorblade and trim it up. dont know if you have it, but the turf with the 3m tape makes the rails a lot easier.

Yup, installed 1/4" padding on my rails before I turfed em. Much much better on shins and elbows.

Did mine last weekend, ran out of contact cement. Man, it was bloody difficult to cut the rail edges straight as possible and got sloppy.
