Removing front exhaust?

Has anyone removed their front exhaust? If so how did you fill the hole in the hull? The glass is thick there. I am not sure if I should use filler and glass, or many layers of glass. Any Ideas?

I've done it on my Roundnose
I glassed from the inside first with a few layers.
Then I put a few small pieces of glass on the outside and finished off with the rest of the Tubbie that I cut to fit the stupid front exhaust in the first place.

its funny that years ago when 550's came with front exhaust it was a mod to put rear exhaust in em...

now that skiis come with rear exhaust its a mod to put front exhaust.

i think people get bored and want to change things.

Because many people find that front exhausts are too noisy and smoky and really don't give you that much of a riding advantage.
I went through quite a bit of trouble taking mine out because that's how much I didn't like it.

it just depends what kind of riding you do. i removed mine because i was setting the boat up for surf so it was unnecessary. i would have kept it if i was using the boat for flatwater freestyle though.
i just layed some glass over the inside, let it dry and then filled the outside with resin mixed with microballons and smoothed it out.

Im going to go with a rear exaust on my 440/750 conversion ski sometime. When I get off the thing I feel like I smoked a carton of ciggs. Its also too loud.
