Removing Flywheel - Stupid Question

normal..loosen it CCW

if you use an impact gun, it should spin right off..

to remove the flywheel thread the bolts in the 3 holes..make sure not to twist them in too far you can hit the stator..

then place a 7/16th socket between the crank snout and flywheel puller....this will prevent the tapered end of the puller from damaging the crank

make sure you have even tension on the 3 bolts, put the impact on the flywheel puller and try not to be startled when it pops off...

good luck!

personally i would not use an impact on a 2 stroke flywheel. the crank halves are pressed together. not cast or anything, the impact COULD, not will, have enough force to unbalance the halves. thats just my opinion.. if it was me i'd use a flywheel holder and break it free with a breaker bar or something like that. IMO

how could the impact unbalance the crank if the flywheel is being held?

i always hold the flywheel with my left hand and use the impact with my right.
