Jetworks torques them to 32 ftlbs.
Yeah it seems to me like all motor builders are in the same ball park
Jetworks torques them to 32 ftlbs.
Psi? :lmao:
I use units of cubic boobies per beer squared, personally
Use loctite on the bottom end of the studs and grease on the top.
I have had serius issues with this in the past. ADA claims they NEVER have this issue (BS). Mostly on the billet cylinders but also on the cast. I swear on high compression motors its like the dayum girdle bolts stretch. The non Girdles do not seem to have a problem at all.
38ft # is pretty high, just make sure your not spinning the girdle bolt at that, stripping will happen in the cases. I torque the bolts into the cyl @ 34 then the top side at 34 as well and check and recheck, forgetting can cause HUGE issues that I do not want to remember LOL.
Not sure if its the vibration in the girdle bolts or if they do actualy stretch or what but it is crazy how often this can happen.
Thanks for posting. I should probably recheck. This is something that I would have probably looked past.
so i shouldnt use an impact on the acorn nuts?
no, use a sweeney wrenchso i shouldnt use an impact on the acorn nuts?
torque wrench to 35 ft/lbs, I hope you are joking : )
i just get them as tight as i can, seems to work.
KNowing TZANE he uses the breaker bar LOL!!!! NAH, the big motors with higher compression seem worse then others, never had an issue with 190psi comp and under. Also seems the tall Billet cylinders for stroker motors are even worse. I really think they just vibrae loose due to the length of the bolts.
