Other Recoil ...... IN YOUR FACE

Well ..... we have been shooting a good bit since his 10th birthday. We have the safety down ( I'm very comfortable with his attention to detail in that area ). We have been practicing shouldering his single shot 20 and following a target ( in the usmc we called it snapping in ) . WELL ....... throw that all out the window when the birds start flying.


He had one coming in on his right ...... I had two on my left. I got him settled in, turned to make my shot . He made his then I made mine ( I shot a double ) . My back was to him and he said Dad " I think I have a bloody nose " I turned and and this is the face I saw. I knew it was not serious , but it looked messy. Anyway we finished the shoot ( tuff kid ) then went to the ER for some glue .

Awesome I remember hitting my first birds I was addicted for a long time after that, still enjoy a good shoot.

Nothing like sitting on the grass on a hot sunny day starring down your sights at a 55 gallon drum with little targets painted on it. LOL good times

When I was kid i did something similar, I took the scope of my 30-30 to the face shooting at my first deer.

Tuff kid! Congrats! Guy I work with put a scope on his Mosin Nagant before he ever shot it and thought you put the butt stock on top of your shoulder... Ended up breaking his nose on the first shot.

Congrats on the birds I quit ridin my ski this year for dove hunting. Its addictive !
