Well ..... we have been shooting a good bit since his 10th birthday. We have the safety down ( I'm very comfortable with his attention to detail in that area ). We have been practicing shouldering his single shot 20 and following a target ( in the usmc we called it snapping in ) . WELL ....... throw that all out the window when the birds start flying.
He had one coming in on his right ...... I had two on my left. I got him settled in, turned to make my shot . He made his then I made mine ( I shot a double ) . My back was to him and he said Dad " I think I have a bloody nose " I turned and and this is the face I saw. I knew it was not serious , but it looked messy. Anyway we finished the shoot ( tuff kid ) then went to the ER for some glue .
