Rebuilding/Modding Kawi 750 engine

Location

I have a Kawi 750 Small Pin that needs to be redone. I am going to put it in an X2 and i am looking for Low End. Hitting 50mph+ would be nice too.

I plan on using 650 electronics and flywheel
I want to use 93 octane pump gas

How far would you bore it out? I was planning on 2mm over.
What brand piston would you go with? Any brand to stay away from?

Does an afermarket head need to be remachined with a 2mm over bore?

Next is porting... any place that knows kawi's better then the rest or any particular place that does a better job in general then the rest?

Now to the Carb. I want low end power and easy tuning. I was thinking Mikuni 44 or 46. I want a single carb due to ease of tuning and space restriction in an X2 hull. Any others to look for? Novi, Buckshot, etc?

My crank needs a rebuild, Are the ebay rebuilds reputable? again any place recomended to send it?

Any other things i should be thinking about other then a pipe. Or any other suggetions please post. Im looking for the best bang for my buck. Im not going all out on this as i do have a budget.

Thanks In Advance guys
Dan

im not sure you wont to go 2mm over size thats the max you can go with the standard sleves. most people go 1mm over size (765) . my small pin is 2mm over size and it wasnt that much diffrent from 1mm and then you still have some let iff you have problems

Dont go 2mm over unless your bore is so bad that you have to. The little increase in displacement will not make a large enough difference in power for you to notice. Get a Factory limited pipe, a single 44/46 and get some porting from whoever you like.

If you have the time and patience, you can port it yourself using a SportPort template from RaceLogic. Do a pipe, head, carb. 50 should be right there. I agree with Hulka on the bore. Don't take it out that far unless you have to. If it goes you still have material to work with.

Does anyone have the templates? How does the porting compare performance wise to the better shops out there?

How much does porting from a reputable shop usually run?
