taking it apart and putting it back together is a snap. You don't need all the parts so if you have some left over its not a big deal

make sure you shoot carb cleaner through the jets and into the carb throat. the little tiny holes in the throat should be poked through with a wire from a wire brush.

If you can making sure the needle and seat pop off correctly is important.

The throttle plate should seal up pretty well. if you see much daylight then the the plates need to be replaced.

My rebuild kit was supposed to come with 2 check valves but only had one. Is it more important to a particular check valve??? Should I see if one of them is more warn out or someting?

if the check valve doesn't have a crease in it, it doesn't need to be changed. I wouldn't even change one of them if they both look ok. To double check them you can suck/blow on them.

I bet the check valve is in there. Sometimes they get stuck to the paperwork or the packaging. You gotta be careful when you open the package.

One thing that gives me trouble on carb rebuilds is the two screws that hold the piece that goes on top of the jets. I always end up having to extract them because they strip. No big deal but just something to watch out for.

before I ever turn those philips screws I get the right size screwdriver and hit it with a hammer real sharply. That will usually break free any corrosion or fuel varnishing.

Last summer my most frequent PWC repair was carb rebuilds. Most of them were in pretty rough shape.

Good tip there. I'll do the hammer thing next time. And for the check valves, alot of times I end up damaging them just trying to install them and end up using the originals anyway.

So I finished the rebuild and I couldnt get the ski running because the primer pump isnt moving any fuel. We ended up squirting some gas into the line to the carb and it started up but the primer pump isnt doing anything any answers for me???
