I was just reading the back of some quicksilver PWC oil.

blah blah good for engines that specify the use of API-TC type oils including waverunner sea-doo blah blah

then it said Quicksilver PWC oil is not intended for use in engines specifying the use of TC-W3 type oil blah blah use quicksilver 2-cycle outboard oil.

whats the difference in the 2 oils and whats best to use?

the quicksilver full synthetic is not tcw3, so dont use it if your PWC is specified for tcw3. their PWC likewise is not tcw3.
their outboard synthetic blend and their premium outboard are both tcw3 and work great in my SJ650 and JS750
love the quicksilver:smile:

Stay away from all Quicksilver 2-stroke oils, lost a few motors before I changed.

I surely doubt your motor failures were a result of a kind of oil .
I've used evey kind of oil I can find from cheap no name brand that says just "2 stroke oil "on it all the way up to full synthetics and have never blown an engine .You probably didn't have it tuned properly or use the right ratio of oil/gas.

I use the Castor 927 and that stuff is bad ass and I'm finishing up some Yamalube right now. Personally, I'm kinda scared of Penzoil products. I'm not saying that their 2-stroke stuff is not any good, but have any of you disassembled any vehicle engines that ran nothing but Penzoil? The heads are full of all kinds of crap unlike anything I've seen. Just my $.02 though.

I've disassembled about 100 Toyota 3SGTE or 5SFE motors. As long as they have had regular oil changes I have never seen any build-up problems caused by any brand of oil. the last time I saw a oil related build-up problem was disassembling a 1960's vintage Ford big block that hadn't run since the late 70's. My opinion is that just about all modern oils are the same quality.

As proof against my own opinion, haha, we did recently dyno a Lexus IS300. the owner switched oils from Mobil1 synthetic to a fancy imported synthetic oil (edit: Eneos 5W40 is the brand) made by Nippon. He picked up 10hp!!

while i love the smell of bean oil (castor 927) it has been proven to rob hp. not saying it doesnt lube the hell out of everything but i have seen dyno results where castor 927 produced less hp than standard two stroke oils. i use pennzoil sythetic and semi synth and have had no problems. i have used supertech from walmart as well....smells good.
