Since the ski season is for most of us in hibernation now, I figured it was time to do another patented "Question of the week" thread. Today's topic...dumbest idea ever...with all the wrenching over this year, what have you encountered that you would say was somebody else's dumbest attempt to do a repair that you have had to correct. Ok.....go!
While working on a Blaster and firing it up for the first time in years, we had exhaust streaming into the engine compartment from the through holes between the engine compartment and driveshaft/battery box compartment. After pulling the battery and box, we found that the previous owner had cut the exhaust hose, used a different exhaust outlet, and bridged the hose...with a piece of plastic pipe! Quite a reduction of airflow wouldn't you say? A little melty melty diameter decrease anyone? :hitwithrock:
