Put a new alum pump shoe in the B1. Pump shoe went in fine and sits flush like it should. When I went to install the pump, there is a small gap between the "packing" seal and the shoe. The dowel pins are lined up and that limits how far foreward the pump will sit. I have a couple other pump seals, but they sit the same, and the lip that holds it inplace does not allow me to double up those seals (just a thought). The short shaft is not on, so the pump is not limited by that.
Any ideas how to cure this?
I don't think a new seal will fix the issue. A new one might touch the pump shoe, but without any pressure on it, it would blow water by.
I also thought about silicone, but that is sort of a bandaid and not the correct fix.
