Protecting polished b pipe?

Over the winter I polished my b pipe chamber and flywheel cover and since then they've turned pretty nasty. I had to remove both for unforseen problems so I'm re-polishing them but I'd like to protect them somehow. I'm less worried about the flywheel cover and more worried about the heat on the b pipe. Anyone had any success maintaining the polished look and if so what'd you use and where'd you get it?

This stuff is the best! Spray it on your polished stuff, and it stays that way! No more greasy WD-40.

I'd pay more for aftermarket parts that DON"T have powdercoating. Powdercoating is NOT marine friendly=it sux.

So is that rod and reel stuff something that you spray every couple rides?

Do you have to pay someone to get the chamber ceramic coated or is it something I can do?

I'd recommend have a ceramic coating place do the job because you'll need an oven that goes up too about 700F degrees.

The pipe gets hot enough that eventually the ceramic chrome will dull. Plus it still water spots badly just like polishing does. On my old ski I had a polished flywheel cover and a coated B-pipe. The coating has held up much better, but doesn't look like it did fresh from the coater.

Ceramic coated chambers water spots can easily be cleaned off with a rag and some metal polish.

the best is...

100% silicone spray. ace harware sells it. its around 6-7$
not penetrating or break loose oil
just basic silly cone spray

i use it one mine and it keeps it nice and water resistant,
it way better than wd40
all other including wd will break down components stickers and coatings.

Here is my pipe right after it had the ceramic coating applied.
Its not super shiney but its good enough for me. After 6 months of riding it still looks as good as the day I installed it, no bluing, no chipping.
