Freestyle Prop changes with Powerfactor pipe?

I tried out a Powerfactor pipe on my ski today and although it felt like it had more powerband in the mid to top, it was slightly lagging on the bottom. Barely noticable but I could tell that the powerband wasn't matching up with my prop. While trying to do some 180 slide backflips it seemed like just when the motor would have hit the powerband I was already out of the water and had no more water for thrust. I then tried a bigger nozzle and it seemed to make an improvement. My pump is a 144 mag with a 14/19 prop, freestyle cone, and a 85mm nozzle. The nozzle I switched to that improved it was 87mm. My setup is carbon badass freak with a 850cc Jetworks 5 mil ADA cylinder motor with total loss, Boyesen intake and 46mm Blackjacks.

Is everyone dropping the prop pitch for powerfactor pipes?

Post up some numbers for what you are running that seems right with your powerfactor pipe please.

I would be interested in some numbers for 148 pumps too. I would love to go that route but don't know where to start on pitch. I would put my motor on par with a dasa 900. Mine is without question stronger than pabloescobar's with the same bolt ons but maybe someone has their's dialed in better so I will say on par.

True. They will know 148 numbers. I could still use some 144 numbers or general impressions of required prop changes between pfp and bpipe.

I'm experiencing a bit of the same, but with a smaller motor. I talked to PFP and they told me my compression was too low. I just put in some new domes and it sounds WAY snappier. Can't wait to water test. My compression was at 165 and is now 198 @ 5,000' elevation.

I had a limited b pipe with a 9/15 hooker behind my ported 771. The hit was awesome! The PFP definitely hits later. I also propped up to a 10/16 hooker and may stick with it if testing goes better this weekend. But may look for a trade back to a 9/15.

Also I am running stock 144 pump. Soon to be 144 mag.

Also I recommend giving PFP a call. Super knowledgeable on a ton of different motor sizes, elevations, porting etc... I'd at least give them a call and see what they say. Then Art as well. Or Art first, just because he's your builder.

Free style cone ? And not a medium ..... Hum I did notice that yesterday..... However I was not running on all 8. I say run Greg's prop . Then do the nozzle swap to quantify the results. We were pushed for time... I say ride a tank or so after each swap so you really get the feel. My gut says a 12/17 would be a great start. Call John and get my Watson pitch gauges from him so you can measure apples to apples.

Don't have to worry bout being a chump now. He's got bigger probs. His motor WAS hitting like a hammer with that larger nozzle though. I mean that thing is angry when u get a hand full of throttle. Not that it's news, but the PFP is fo' real. I'd say bore ur nozzle to 87 and save the dough u'd have spent on a prop for a new crank. ;)
