Possibly too small power supply?

Well, since you already found your problem, I can forgo giving you a +1 for the power supply being the problem

Tom's Hardware had a long detailed writeup on power supplies a while ago, and you'd be surprised how many power supplies are total junk. There's only a handful of actual supply manufacturers and only a few of them actually make ones that aren't junk.

They just had some killer deals on Corsair supplies which are based on the Seasonic design. I've got the HX1000w supply, and it's a bad motherf***er. Picked it up for 149 on sale.

That article looks old but still ...I don't recognize even one of these names and I have been in the game man.....just funny because they probably all just changed names...
