Other pop ups and other annoyances

seems some members of this forum have allowed flashing pop ups and other aggrevating adds to be part of their threads in the for sale section(jetskihaven has them as i type this).
i paid my membership fee to get away from this crap so out of respect for other members who have done likewise is there a way the moderators to control this?
this might be welcomed on pwctoday but lets try to at least keep one ski forum clean.

in the for sale section.
if you click on his different latest threads, you have an insert that sometimes flashes or even speaks to tell you have won something or other nonsense..
it replaces the space usually occupied by his moving logo.
don't know if he allowed it to happen or if it's just addware or other .

if only i knew how to post a screenshot.
they seem to come and go and replace his logo.
they'll be there and if you refresh they sometimes disappear.
using internet explorer.

I've never seen those ads before. I only see the banner for his parts store and although the motion is a little annoying, I wouldn't protest against it. It's hard to draw a line between a picture of someone's ski and a picture of someone business.

Now if there are member banners that talk, that's gotta go! Those are the most obnoxious things ever...

some talk,some don't.
i'm not blaming skihaven but they only appear so far on his posts.
his moving banner doesn't bother one bit but it sometimes gets replaced by this garbage.
didn't happen yesterday.

If the add is a pay per click advertiser where the person posting it is getting paid , then it should be banned. That's my stance.

I would have to say you have an issue on your end with adware/malware, but not 100% certain either.

The way I have signatures setup, you can only put in a pic that has been uploaded to our site, and it definitely won't have scrollbars because the pics are limited in size by the site, so if it's been uploaded, then it's within the limits.

Also, html/scripts are blocked, so popups aren't possible.

We see this time and time again at work. A member will try to log in to our site (a site for kids) and see porn or some other site that is not us. It's because they have a virus and IE allows it to affect their web-browsing. Firefox won't allow it to happen... but you still have a virus.
