can i test the pop off with the carbs installed? or do i have to remove them and partially disassemble them? first time ever checking this, i just make my own tester...

I would remove the carbs and partially disassemble them. Pop off should just be the same on both, if not check to see if the needle is worn (you will see a very faint ring around the rubber material, it's hard to see). Just my 2 cents.

I don't believe it totally matters what psi they are, as long as they are similar. Both of mine were within 1-2 psi of each other, so I think you're good. If you aren't having any problems related to pop off, then you should be done.
If you want, you could check to see if there is a leak while it's apart.
-To do that just submerge the needle and seat with something like WD40 and slowly increase the psi up to pop off.
-If you see tiny bubbles coming up just before you reach pop off, then you have a leak.
-This can be easier to do with a friend, so one person can watch the pressure, while the other closely watches for tiny bubbles.

I hope that helps,

James Ross
