Pole Bracket Installation Question...

Putting my FX1 back together and I was wondering...

Should there be some sort of rubber seal or do you smear some sealer on it when fixing it to the ski? I seem to remember it had neither when I dismantled the ski...

The other thing is... Where the cables go through the bracket and into the hull there is a little gatered rubber tube. What do you guys do with this to prevent excessive water going in when you sub, fountain and such like?

you can put some silicon on the bracket before you bolt it down

The rubber tube should have a insert that has 3 or 4 holes in it that fit around the cables/wires individually, then it slides into the tube and you ziptie around it

you can, but why? no need in my opinion. silicone is ugly

i could be wrong but i think thats just on kawis....typically the tube runs up inside the pole far enough that water going in wont be an issue.

there is one on yamaha's too...

oh ive never had one on any of my skis...i actually used a kawi one once..

ya I don't use one... once all the cables and wires are through I just take a zip tie and pull the rubber boot closed.

This holds up extremely well. I know its ugly but it does the trick....no water, ever....
