Polaris 785 Pro versus Cadillac Escilade :-(

So about 12:45am this morning Christin and I were just crawling into bed when I heard a bad, bad noise. Earlier today (technically yesterday) I towed my 785 Pro to my house because RedlineR6 (from Green Hulk) was on his way from Iowa to pick it up. I parked it in front of my house, lots of people park in front of their houses here, it's a wide street, no big deal.

Wrong.

I raced for clothes and Christin hits the outside lights. It's not a pretty sight. There is a large man in the front yard begging me not to call the cops. Christin thought fast and called the cops before she even walked out of the house. I can smell alcohol. Christin stalls him and I run (barefoot) to my neighbors who is a University of North Texas cop. Luckily the local police showed up fast.

Turns out there was a witness, a teenager and his mom were driving home and saw the whole thing. The guy tried to leave, but his Escalade was too tangled up in the trailer.

The drunk is a Dallas police officer!! The Escalade was stuffed with alcoholic beverages.

Christin snapped pics:

Sorry RedlineR6

The 785 looks like it survived pretty well, it basically got launched off the trailer and landed ass first in my front yard, did a pyroette and fell back onto my driveway inches from Christin's Jeep. Total distance traveled was about 20-25 feet! There are some chunks out of the hull, the steering, trim and reduction nozzles are either gone or trashed.

My 2006 Tundra is hurt bad. Possibly totaled. The cab is mashed in about 4 inches in the center. the back window is busted out. The whole bed is trashed.

Wow. This sucks.

Daytime pictures

The local police helped me slide the ski backwards a few feet into my yard last night.

Christin and I did some accident reconstruction based on our experiences watching 4 seasons of ALL THREE CSI shows...haha

Apparently the Escalade launched the 785 Pro into the back of my truck, then the ski rolled off the back of the truck butt first (putting a divot in my yard) and then came to rest pointing 180 degrees the other direction.

Ski damage so far is some chunks out of the bottom hull and some stress fractures on the top deck, all the bumpers are scratched or bowed or torn off (the left rear bumper took the worst of it, it's gone). The reduction nozzle is dented, tilt and trim nozzles are gone.

Damn shame on your stuff. I just started to think what would've happened if that guy smashed into someone instead of something....

Your truck and your ski may have saved someone's life. If that drunk made it further he could have easily taken someones life. Sorry for the carnage

Creative RE Purchasing
if a tree from your propert falls on your car in your driveway that is covered by home owners

I feel you, but my agent told me that say my ski is stolen out of my drive way, that it would not be covered under home owners b/c the ski could of had it's own insurance policy b/c it is a registrable vehicle.

My agent may be wrong, just relaying what was told to me.
