Pls help...engine won't run properly!

Alright after a complete rebuild and overhauling of ski I go to start it up and it runs like a turd. At first i thought it was not getting any gas but after my buddy who built the engine looked at it, concluded that its hitting the rev limiter right away and not letting it rev up. So than we pop open the electrical box and find that everything is all corroded adn a real mess (to put it lightly) So now I have to go through everything and clean it all . Now my question is what would cause the rev limiter to kick in right away? Bad MSd enhancer maybe? Is that a symptom of a grenaded MSd? What else could it be??

Also what are some tips for cleaning electrical connections especially salt corrosion.

I'll post soem pics later for you guys to see the mess i found.

that is the canadian rev limiter syndrom...
up to 2500rpm its all out! but dont go any faster!

sounds like the temp sensor circut is closed. Make sure the pink wire coming from the cdi is ok. If not it could be a bad temp sensor.

ohm out the plug connectors on the ends of the sparkplug wires and TRY NEW PLUGS.

otherwise, the pink wire from the CDI is the one you should be looking at for temp sensor problems.

i think i have a modified stock 62t cdi. i thought it would work for my 61x setup but it had different wires. so im assuming its for a 62t.

i have an unmodified stock cdi if you want/need it. i have no idea what to tell you about the problem though, i can't imagine it's a bad cdi, did you check compression?

yep compression is fine...so you guys think it could be related to the temp sensor?? anything else to possibly look for??

Like I said when it starts and you give it gas it kind it goes "braaannnn" and hits rev limiter immediately...just out of curiosity sake what are symptoms of a blown msd??
