Cool pics Keith.....it was nice meeting you. Pismo was Cold as chit, I have never been there and felt so cold, seriously. And then after 1 PM it became Kite beach.....kite surfers were all out in force. Is that new? I have never seen so many of them, actually I have never seen any of them before. I am pretty sure I also saw a truck drove by with a sign that read "Kite surfing rentals/lessons". The morning sets were pretty clean with the ocassional 6 footer.

We need to do it again......memorial day?

Blue ski guy here,

Yeah, I know the FAs are not ideal for the surf. My plan is to run this setup until I need a new top end (which will be soon judging by this weekend) and then swap back to the stock ones when I'm getting the new top end put in. I have the stock ones on my other SJ (in storage in Toronto), they are much better than the water vacuums I have on this one.

Aside from the bilge hose coming lose (I have never seen a zip tie just undo itself before) I had a blast! Thanks again to Keith, Benny, Chad and Gary for their help getting me going again.

Great pics Keith - thank your dad again for me! I bought you a replacement can of quick start at pep boys yesterday, will get it to you next ride...

I am in for Memorial Day.

Bailing without letting go of the bars is my specialty. It's painful sometimes but at least I don't have to swim after my ski too often.

The surf looks alot smaller compared to when I was there in March for the Liquid Militia Freeride. Is this typical for this time of year? Im asking cause I would feel alot more comfortable in surf like this compared to my first time when there were huge sets everyday.

The surf is like day and night compare to summer and winter. IMO winter swells rock, they are steady and have more form, and of course they are HUGE. Summer is still OK but you have to ride in the AM, as in 7 or 8 AM when it's clean. You will get decent waves up until noon. Then it gets windy and the waves have no form, they brake every which way and it's basically a wash machine all over. At least that is what I have experience every time I have been down there.
I was not at the freeride you mention but I was there at the one prior, and the surf was Monstrous, I am talking 12 footers easy. I will take any surf, any day of the week to flat water though.....
