Pink Squarenose Effort

Alright...I will put more pictures up tonight.
Instead of filling in all the deep gouges on the bottom, I layed a sheet of glass over the center part, from the pump cavity to the nose.
I then put thickened epoxy on that to smooth out the glass a bit. Seems to work well.
The nose has been fixed, foamed beneath the bondline lip, and glassed over.
I glassed in reinforcments for the left backside yesterday plus some extra glass on the underside of the left gunwhale top.
That way, I can cut off the lip on top and extend the turf a little bit. That really helps the arms on a Square.
I have also sealed all potential leakers in the back with 5200, including the bondline.
the pump stuffer insert has been removed.
Whew....I got a lot more to do.
I hope to be sealing up the back and refoam by next week sometime.

I wasn't going to do all this - but Phill convinced me otherwise. I will ride this ski as a backup occasionally, and every now and then, in the surf.
It will be nice to just jump on it and treat it just like my Roundnose hull. And once it's all done, I won't have to worry about it.

Have you ported it yet? Or is all the progress on the body so far?

I have not torn into the engine at all yet. I have been working on porting a 650 cylinder for Phill - good practice for my own. :haha:

Bring by that 750 already, and quit thinking about working on home improvements, silly.

More pictures.
You can see where I put glass on the bottom and smoothed it out with thickened epoxy.
THere's a picture of a carbon rideplate for an Octane. It needs a little bit of modding and will make a fine plate for my roundie.

Last, a picture of my garage. Four skis there now.

More pics....some porting stuff - still very much in progress. The cylinder will be bored to 81mm.
Also, pics of Suva's (Now Snackem's) 650SX, but with 750 engine. Note the custom pole Suva made himself.

Couple more pics...my roundnose. I am cutting out my old footholds and putting in REV's.

Note the size comparison.

There's a picture of the pump shoe. See the missing inserts? Yeah, I lost them, with the grate. The plan is to epoxy some nuts in there.
Last picture is of the pump stuffer, when it was still installed.
