Just got it in today so I can test it out in Daytona next week. Fit is pretty good, I got a small and its a lil tight but I think a med would be too big, I got a small mellon. Padding comes out easily and looks like itll dry quick when taken out. I can see everything so theres no blind spots Ive noticed. Visor came off within seconds of getting it. I was going to go with the carbon but figured id save 40 and try this first, this is the black Full Bravo. I got my through 661 sponsorhouse site, but Chuck at CG Racing is a dealer as well. Ill update in Daytona or after. Any other reviews strictly on 661, post em.

Creative RE Purchasing
One thing I didn't like about my 661, and practically any other helmet out there, is that they do not use stainless so the rivets things that hold the straps to the side of the helmet will eventually rust out and the straps goes bye bye. My helmet lasted about 1.5 years before I lost my first strap.

keep in mind also, helmets arent designed to last forever.

in MX the rule is: one hard landing where you bang your head, time for a new helmet. period.

Thought that was only for SNAN(?) helmets and really is only more important for street..... maybe I can see it for bad dirt impacts also, but more unlikely.

For water that thing would have to be cracked before I'd buy a new one.

Helmets work like this.

Single impact. If you see stars or are shaken up the helmet is toast.

Inside is a high density foam that protects your noodle. This is why you buy your helmet to fit. It doesn't stretch out over time, you just get used to it. Fit it snug but not tight to the point where it bothers you.

The foam will compress when landing hard, it now possesses different structural/protective qualities that is unsafe to trust you melon to for a repeated impact.

You can't put a price on you're dome, and if you can a helmet isn't for you. Don't skimp on a helmet, you'll regret it, and you'll end up buying a better one later on anyways.

SJKny - You are right about the road/dirt impact, one hit and its over.

Keep in mind the same is true for water as the impact can be just as great when you're Pancake or JK.

For flatwater I wouldn't be AS CONCERNED, but a barrel gone wrong can mean you hitting your head on the machine. SMC or an Aluminum pole is just as hard as dirt.

Just something to think about.

Also ear protection is a huge motivator to using one. I havent hit hard on a ski yet but ive had my share from slalom skiing. A full face like I got will probably be a lot warmer for spring and fall riding.
