Pearling

I live across the bay from BL, Ill be riding there this summer for sure.
Ive always been a little worried about having a mechanical problem out there, right when you take the right around the jetty. Getting stuck there by the rock pile in real chopped up waves would suck, this is why I need some riding buddies.
We ride stone harbor almost every weekend if you want to come down, If not I'll make sure I get in touch if we're headed to lbi, but you should have no problem finding riding buds down there, BL freeride crew is always at the ramp near the end of the island.

I rode the brigantine beach bash. Broke my wrist doing a barrel roll re-entry on the Sunday of the ride.

No lakes for me. Surf only. I'm allergic to fresh water lol.

You riding Daytona next week?
I'm not gonna make it to daytona this year, I don't know if I met you at brig or not. I left sunday morning, but we rode friday night, and all day saturday, I was on the beach with bawanna, joe grace, and all them guys from deptford that had waveblasters, they rented that house at the south end of the ride area, I stayed in A.c. that weekend

Not sure if i'd consider that a full on pearl. Just a little sub after slashing a wave. A pearl is more like the pic i posted. Shawn came down the wave perpendicular to it. The nose drops, the wave lifts the tail, then the nose slams into the ocean bottom, and you finish it off with a nice front flip over the bars. Pearling is not fun. If you ride away from it, i dont really consider it a pearl. (that's my criteria at least) haha

Pearling has become a regular part of my riding day.
If I don't pearl, at least once, then I figure that I wasn't pushing it hard enough. lol.
Because I do it on a regular basis, I've decided to try perfecting it.
Drop in really late and vertical in shallow enough water that the nose will dig into the bottom. This will produce the highly desired "end-over-end' under-water roll effect.

I had an "unapproved surf ski" That 650 sx was almost always broke, I'm lucky there was an extra square to ride. Just bougt my first rn, I'm gonna wait till I have all my parts to post a build thread, but it will pretty much be a stock 701 with handling mods, kept nice and reliable

Everyone is an expert at pearling.
Adding more rocker to your SJ only helps you sleep better the night before you ride in the surf

pearling is about as fun as launching your ski without putting the spark plug boots on the sparkys and wondering why it doesn't start. shift your weight pretty much and very hard riding getting caught up turning or riding perpendicular to the wave.

Our pancake hydroplanes would 'buck us' sideways, with some g's, if the sponsons caught a chop... In those boats, leaning was futile.
