You could also look into hydrophobic or hydrophilic coatings,

There seems to be a lot of debate over anything flow related, but I have read seemingly valid arguments for both hydrophobic coatings and hydrophilic coatings. I personally would lean towards hydrophilic for this case.

Take a look at Seaslide: http://www.fasterwithseaslide.com/ for hydrophilic or Hydrobead: http://www.hydrobead.com/#!shop--cart/c2jl for hydrophobic

Hope someone gives either a try a posts some findings,

Or just beach it several times on a sandy beach or drag it down a gravel road........... Yes, I have heard of that being done to brand new sxr's that had never seen the water yet.

I did this to the topside of my old Sj at 80mph. Wdk hood held up well, ground thru the grip and shortened one end of handlebars, chin pad had small scrap.

Always tighten your straps...Before you leave the ramp. Guy came out of his house, said it was loud!!!!

We built a special tow rig just to drag our million dollar boats down the gravel drive.

We talked to the jammer about his boats and he did the truing on his pjs race boats himself and put a lot of time into them.

We have done a few different things but found what works best overall is polyester primer sanded to 220. It is bascily a gel coat so it is thick and durable

Cheap dollar a can lowes spry paint performs better but has poor adhesion and no durability. So good for a race or two only.
