Super Jet Painting engine with appliance epoxy?

Hey guys I unfortunately had to disassemble my ski in the middle of the season so while it's down I am going to sandblast it and then paint it. I bought appliance epoxy to paint the pipe and waterbox. Should I use that for the engine as well? And what would you recommend as a primer? Note: This is going to be as cheap as possible and from a rattle can.

Now that I am thinking about it, should I paint the engine? It is a saltwater ski and I wash it out after every ride. If I just sand blasted it and coated it with fluid film or something would that be better than paint?

There is engine paint you can buy. I don’t know if everyone here uses it and haven’t tried it but it’s for high temp situations

You probably want something like VHT high temp and then to also put a coat of high temp clear over it. Or something gas/oil resistant. Or better yet polish the whole thing to a mirror like finish. :)

I paint my stuff w zinc chromate primer , it's not cheap $20 for a rattle can
After you blast it clean everything w contact cleaner then spray it
After that dried spray again
Then after that dries sray w your epoxy paint will be tough as hell

There is no reason to use high temp paint on the engines because they don't get that hot. I prefer an epoxy since it is more durable like any of the engine paints. I have also done a lot of engines with standard rattle can paint with clear over and they hold up just fine.
