A pole limiter is the very FIRST mod you do to a ski intended to be ridden in the surf. Some times we have to learn the hard way! Sorry about that! Not only do I have a pole limiter, my pole mount area is heavily reinforced, almost 1" thick at the pole mount with reinforcement wraped all down on either side to the bond line, and I also run a plate the size of the pole bracket on the underside.
