Surfriding Outer Banks - Where to ride?

I'm heading to the Outer Banks for a week this year with a group and I would like to take the skis if I can figure out a good spot to launch and ride ocean side. I've never been to the OB before. The group is looking in the Avon, Waves, Rodanthe areas...

Any good spots?

I vaca there every year and have never seen stand ups or any jetskis in the regular beach areas. I'm interested to hear as well. Good luck man. Some areas are real uptight with power sports noise.

I used to vacation there too. However about 20 years ago when couches became popular the good ol boys at Oregon inlet lobbied the park service to exclude PWC's from having fun in the ocean or inlet.
You may still ride in the sound of course.

We have a house In Avon. There is no launching from beaches anywhere. Sound you are game Tho. I really with there was a way to get around this bullpoop. Hatteras is one of the prettiest places I have ever been to. Waves get rediculas there....
