The search is your friend. Use the search on here for fourms and use google for items...i would probably use google if you wanted a fast option to buy.

I tried the search but it mainly came up with a company that is no longer in business. When you say it goes bad, in what way? Just loses colour or disintegrates and clogs up the filter/carbs?

You have to ask yourself why that is.

The product hardens, discolors and doesn't look as good after even a few short months.

2 years ago Jetmaniac told me to go oem and I didn't listen. I have changed hoses on our 2 skis 4 times now and am finally back to oem and lovin it.

I have aftermarket on my FX1 and HATE it. I have to snip 1/2" off and reziptie it all the time. I'd like to punch the dummy who put it on. Where is the best place to buy a roll/length of OEM fuel line. Yeah, its not pretty, but not having fuel in the engine compartment is more important to me.

not to threadjack but.....

any opinions on this stuff VS stock line? or is it comparable to the quality of stock line?

from mcmaster-carr 3/16" ID Tygon 4040 Fuel Line: 5552K24

chemical compatibility of this line says that fuel and oil will have NO effect other than possible discoloration. the line isnt really pretty to begin with, but its an unlimited supply of a cheap replacement.

if OEM is was better than this stuff, let me know. i have both but will stick to OEM if its really that much better.

Stick with oem. Regardless of the fuel compatibility problems (which are a big deal), any of the colored stuff (and I would bet the tygon too) will take a set over time. That means the ziptie is the only thing sealing, and not the fitting barb. Several times I've found fuel leaks in my ski due to vapor pressure causing blow-by leaks at the fuel filter barb.

I just ripped the colored lines out of my skis after only 2 years, and put in autozone black fuel line. Not sure if that's any better, but I was in a hurry. Next time will be used oem line for sure.

When I built my 07 SJ, I used the orange fuel line. didn't like the looks so I switched to yellow before I even put fuel in it. About 9 months later I tore that all out due to fuel leaks and milky discoloration and replaced with a premium fuel line from ACE Home hardware. That stuff hardened in less than 4 months and started leaking everywhere. I then replaced it with the standard black from autozone but didn't like how soft it got when sprayed down with WD-40. I finally ripped everything out and replaced it with OEM that I had laying around the whole time.

Tygon is better than OEM, but expensive
