one way valve

Im thinking of putting a one way valve in my sj, along with a scupper valve. Why? less leakage, and the scupper can help protect the one way when landing straight up and down. A scupper would leak way too much for me, sometimes we'll stop and chat on the sand bar waiting for boats and I dont want to let my bilges work all day long, not that they cant.

So, who makes a good one way valve thats reliable that you guys use? I did a search and didnt see much

home depot / lowes - i have no issues with my cheap one way

ps. a one way or scupper all use water pressure to create it's seal. if your scupper is slightly leaking, theres a good chance that the one way will too because theres not enough pressure on the flap and it will seep past.

If you don't ride your boat much, why even mess with it and put more time/money into it?

I ride it enough to compensate for it. if I wasnt down half the summer with a dry pipe breaking mounts all the time, and waiting for a b pipe, I'd have used it alot more. oh and, reeds went poop too, right before my driveshaft crapped out. thats why I didnt get to use it as much as possible.

plus, standing water in a ski=moisture= rust= bad. water get out of there!

This is what I just put in.

The black thing is the Home Depot/ Lowe's sump dump 2" one way valve that is used by many here and a 24/7 scupper.

I was told that I don't need the scupper but since it was already ordered I stuck it on anyway.
I also used a 2" threaded-slip fitting that I can screw a plug into for the times when I don't need a scupper.

waste valve

This is what I put on mine,it is a waste valve used for rvs and such,it comes in different sizes and is all plastic aluminum and stainless constroction, mine is mounted on the outside under a cover but it could be easily mounted on the inside,I just didnt have any room in mine to do so.

Hey I am getto all the way, this isn't a low budget build up this is a no budget build up.Any way I like this idea,it functions juast like a normal scupper when is open and when its closed I can leave it in the water allI want and it won't leak.Where I ride there usually is nowhere to pull out of the water.

I have the square home depot valve with the 4 bolts and it leaks when the ski is sitting. It empties the hull out in no time though and the price is right.

That really wasnt an option on this one because I had to sneak the scupper up under the exhaust and was only able to get a 1 inch pipe in there.
