Organizers are pleased to announce that Hydro-Turf has been secured as the title sponsor of the Hydro-Turf Surf Slam. The event will be held at Oceano Dunes SVRA, which is near Pismo Beach California. This Freeride Watercraft Event will take place October 19 -21 as part of the Oceano Dunes Beach Race Weekend, and will be held in conjunction with the WORCS Motocross Races and the Smashing Pismo Beach Party.

The event is the fifth and final stop on this year’s IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour. US Competitors along with pilots from France, Spain, Germany, Brazil, and South Africa will be showcasing their skills in both stand up and sit down categories.

Current Sit-Down Class World Champion Jimmy “Jimbo” Visser will be traveling from South Africa to defend his title. Currently 2nd in points, Frenchman Pierre Maixent will hope to beat out Visser and others and take home the title himself.

In the Stand Up Class, the battle is on for the title between current points leader Pierre Maixent of France, American Ross Champion, French competitors Aureleian Mejean and Gil Beurnier, and Brazilian Ivo Sehn. All five of these competitors are currently within 12 points of each other and each one wants their claim to fame with the 2007 IFWA World Championship Title.

If you have a PDF of a flyer, I would like to put some in a couple local shops and maybe drum up some more people to caravan.

I am supposed to be in Newport, CA the first week of Oct. I may make a trip back out there just to watch this. I think if there is one event (besides Daytona) that I wanna go to, this has to be it. hmmmm wheels are turning :scratchchin:

Emailed ! Hope to get the requirements on competing.

The requirements for competing will be out momentarily....and I think you all will be very pleased.

We will also have the posters in .pdf format available soon too. In fact, my parents and all their buddies have voluteered to wall paper the 5 cities area with them since they have nothing else to do in their retirement besides play golf, BBQ and drink...LOL!

Don' worry - I'll plaster the internet with them when they're ready... appreciate anyone's offer to help us advertise.

I went to this event last year for my first time and must say It was the best time I have had on the water and beach ever (other than almost breaking my ankle riding the surf). Great day and night fun, awsome people, and extreme skills on the water. I've already talked to the misses and am free to try it again. Hopefully this year I can get styds to join me.

Yes, I believe Styd's Va-Gine could use a good salt water rinse...

And I am doing a lot of extra promotion to get some copious amounts of pretty scenery out to the site to spectate ;)

The beach (where the event site camping is located) is NOT full...as of yesterday, there were still 903 reservations available.

Were you looking for the campground with full hook ups? I am compiling a long list of alternative camp groups with hook ups located a short distance away - should be ready by eobd today.

Dan,

We get charged milage out the backside on RV's being drive over 300 miles out here...(RT, it'll be about 750 from SFO area) I'd strongly suggest you fly in, rent a car and drive from the airport, andsimply have www.luv2camp.com set up a nice rental trailer right on site so it's ready to go when you arrive.

Seriously dude, you'd be looking at at least an extra $135.00 just in milage and then wouldn't have any ground transport (unless you wanted to drive out to the store and risk losing your spot)...and RV rentals are expensive to rent in the bay area and so cal area...

Try Luv2camp or one of the other local RV dealers sweetie...and make sure they don't come with a free funnel - deal ;-)~
