OD of plug wire

The spiral core wires are used on oem coils on most/all couches with 701 and up, probably to help prevent interference problems with the gauges.
Some time ago- when I rode a lot-, I would get 2 years, maybe 3 at the most, out of the coil wires on Kawis or Superjets. Rebuilding my coils with a (more) flexible core put a stop to that problem. One of my skis has such a coil that has been used for over 20 years on diff. skis, just replaced the MSD boots as they "tired". I also found out that oem couch coils with the flexible core seemingly last forever. (pic)P1030128.JPG

P1030130.JPG Note the "trial' coil I sawed open to test the pins, they measure about 0.065" P1030131.JPG 25 years ago, i bought them via mail order, it's easier now. Molex connector, female, 0.062"- spread them a little on the test coil.

Easiest/ cheapest is to buy a used couch coil, or use 7mm ss or cu wire. The link shows what I use: http://x-h2o.com/index.php?threads/superjet-ignition-coil.175350/#post-1871284

Definitely not looking for the easy cheap route. The point is to get a half dozen coils I have laying around in operating order. I like your drill bit tool. It's exactly what I did. I didn't realize how deep the pin is in the coil. I got 4 prepped for wires last night, just waiting on wire and boots now.
