Not impressed with my RRP

heres some pics

First of all the pic of the bracket where I'm pointing was threaded...so was the other side.

The pole doesn't want to lay flat like it should. I think it has to do with the breather tubes or the spring or both..who knows. Is this just the way it is or is there some trick or $400 part I need to get it to lay flat like a normal pole?

Now on to the steering the x metal plate wobbles around when I put it on the rrp...it's like the mounting hole is to big. I like my mounting holes to be nice and tight!

I think I need this http://www.thrustinnovations.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=82 to make it work but who knows....

>> Is RR pole run with one bolt or 2 bolts on each side ? that would explain the threads..

seems like the pole would lay flat if more of each tube were pulled down into the hull more... defiantly looks like the breather tubes are compressed to the maximum amount, thus not letting the pole lay flat.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you have to things going against you.

1. it looks like they accidentally put two of the right side (from the tray) mounts on the bed plate.

2. the bed plate is on backward. the breathers should be farther forward to let the pole lay down w/o the tubes bunching and binding.

The instuctions that I found show a pic of the installer tapping in the handle pole bolt with a hammer....you can't do that if both side are threaded..unless you take a drill to you $290 bracket.

yep the pole hole is bigger..when I install the turn plate it wobbles all over the place. I think I need the steering system to make it work but I'm not sure.

here is the install manual I found for the bracket install...followed it step by step.

also fails to mention anything about running a pole spring. I think that has something to do with it as well

the instructions show the pole bolt being inserted from the opposite side you have inserted in...

the instructions do show the bolt being installed opposite of stock. maybe that has something to do with the threads being on both sides... :dunno:

It shouldn't matter what sides the threads are on either way I still need to drill out one side. The stock yamaha bracket is setup like this so that's how I made it. I can't see how it would matter which side it was drilled on.

so lemme get ths straight you went and installed this w/o instruction the first time

negative....

The bracket showed up with no instructions, then I found these instructions and though to myself this should be pretty easy to knock out. For dropping almost $300 bucks on it you'd think it would bolt right up without modifying it but I guess I should of sent more money.

1st the RRP is aftermarket not oem. Almost everything aftermarket takes some "time" to get to fit.
2. I own a RRP pole. Think it's a great pole. I had to remove the powder coat to get my kawasaki bushing to fit. I also just spent 2 hrs this weekend getting the Hagest chin pad to fit right.
3. ALL jetski parts are expensive.

My bracket is not threaded on both sides. It sounds like they packaged 2 of the threaded risers(i would drill out the threads on one side)

It looks like you have the spring on backwards I was told to drill a hole on the left side put spring on with the long side fixed in the hole.I agree it a PITA to have to drill a hole and figure out the right spot and no directions suck for the spring install.

1. I know if I was was going to slang some overpriced ski parts I would at least make sure all of the nuts, bolts, hose clamps and miscellaneous crap is included. Also detailed instructions of parts installation with lots of pic's.

2. My bushings where also quite the paine in the a$$ to install. Why can't they just press them in at the factory? To much to ask I guess or maybe it adds another $500 to the pole to have it done.

3. No chit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own 2 and think they are overpriced piles. And heads up if you put any pressure on the pole pad tab....it will snap off in your fingers. Also, you should use a Torx bit instead of an allen wrench when adjusting the length. His hardware is close to plastic quality.

It does look good though.

yeah one of the allen socket is starting to strip already...and yes I'm using the correct size allen socket.
