Description: This is Lorain's oldest and best known boat launch and is called hot waters because of its location in the old ore docks of the harbor at the output of the Lorain power plant. There are specific launch and recovery procedures. Follow the posted signs for proper procedure and on busy days Lorain Police Aux is there directing traffic. There is a 100 yd No-Wake-Zone extending from the end of the metal walled pier into the harbor.
PWC Info: PWC’s are welcome but on busy days, PWC launch and recovery can be restricted to the worst of the ramps. (Dirty and filled with flotsam) Remember to follow the no wake zone to 100 yds from the end of the metal pier. Heading out the mouth of the harbor you can find good waves if the wind is right. West of the launch is a very large public beach and swimming area. The beach is protected by a break wall and no boats are allowed inside the break wall. There is as small amount of open public beach to the west of the swimming area. To the East of the swimming area there are private beaches leading to a small break wall and some public beach. Beware of shallow water and submerged rocks between the small break wall and the beach.

Description: Miller Road Park and beach is located just East of the launch ramps at the output of a power plant making the water here some the warmest around all year long. It is a very secure park with police making regular rounds through the parking lot. The beach and water here are some of the cleanest on the North Coast. It is a short ride from the launch to the beach, located to the east of the launch. There are only two launches and sometimes very green boaters make it a bit of wait to launch / recover. Great place to take the family for a day on the water.
PWC Info: PWC’s are very welcome here and you only have to pay per trailer for the launch so bring a big trailer and launch all the skis you want. The very clean water and clean beach makes this a great place to ride and spend some time with the family. The water is very warm here in the summer (80-90 deg f) and it stays warmer than the rest of the lake in the winter. This is great place for early and late season riding. Beware that this place can be a magnet (thanks to green couch riders) for local police watercraft and The USCG out of Lorain, OH.
Riding Info: The best waves are generally
