Just be very careful with a small headpipe outlet it will build a lot of piston heat and kill off the power...I hate seeing my stuff half assed! This engine can really breath as it is a copy of the engine we won the world finals with and has bigger transfers than 90% of the engines out there!
So why not just use the Kawi style A headpipe, it is 1/4 inch taller to start with?

Yes a Kawasaki 'A headpipe would be the shiz, but not $$ practical for everyone builds as 95% of the time customer already has his B system, but still doesn't address the headpipe diameter issue!

I know - but don't worry: I'll get there. I've had to repair a whole lot more on my ski than I bargained for and that killed my pipe budget. I'll get the exhaust up to spec and get that motor breathing right, but it's just going to have to wait a bit. I hate doing things half assed too, but c'est la vie....

But, let me know if I can do any damage running it like this - that's a different matter.

Adrian-just left you a v/m

If your welding guy says he is backed up or it's going to be ridiculously priced, there is a company in HSV called Beverly Welding that is on sight only. There minimum is 80.00-BUT THEY COME TO YOU!!! I have used them for 20 years in the car business and they are the ones that make really big problems disappear in a matter of minutes. Call me tomorrow if u need the number as it is in my office at work. ps they do not let you take stuff to them to save money-been there and tried that. lol (he would only charge you the 80.00 min to do what you need done.

Wow - that's awesome. We have a bunch of aluminum welding we need to get done on the horse trailer, so I'd love that number. I tend to use Russell and they can do stuff in one day. I'll drop it by ion the morning and they'll probably be done by lunch.

Russell does alot of stuff for my dad with his farm equipment. They ARE really good and priced very reasonable.

Man Adrian, I had no idea the pipe would be such a pain to mod to make it work ! , thought the spacer and some grinding would be it, lets swap out a clean manifold and head pipe for the one I had on that motor.

Tem,

if your trying to ride now,its a easy job to do with a dremel, they sell a carbide at lowes for it that does it very fast, use the spacer as a template, mark the metal with a sharpie and grind it out

Where's the spacer I made for this engine? Did you not buy the complete exhaust system for that 8mm stroker? That engine was all complete and fitted, did TEM not sell it to you?
Damn I got a brand new manifold and B headpipe all done just setting on the shelf ready to go with the spacer, gaskets and bored outlet to match that engine! (Our new low profile PV don't need any modification for the 'B pipe to fit, so not using it) Are you hurting for $ that bad to go through all this pain?

Sad truth is-not all of us have UNLIMITED budgets to work with

and secondly Adrian is a friend of mine that keeps constantly stating he is going to follow your recipe all the way through.

Go easy on the Brit-he really is trying to be a loyal Team Screamer!
