No spark?

My buddy has a 1990 yamaha 650 superjet. Yesterday we rode in the morning and came home and it wouldnt start or spark so we bought new spark plug boots and installed them and it started right away. then we came back 20 min later to start it and now it doesnt have a spark again. what would cause this???????

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

The spark plug wires may be corroded at the ends.
Take the boots off again and see if the wire ends are corroded.
If they are, cut back the wires until you get uncorroded wire.

Also, the stop switch may be bad.
Try unplugging it (the black connector with a black and a white wire at the ebox) and see if that fixes it. Be aware that your stop switch will not work while it's unplugged (neither will the lanyard cutout)
