Where will you be doing your therapy?

If you're in the Houston area and don't have a place picked out yet or need some recommendations, I can ask my wife (she's an Occupational Therapist) if she knows of a rehab place that's really good with back rehab. Just let me know.

Did them cleaning up that disk make you shorter? Penguin used to be 6' 2" before his back surgery.

Hey guys. Doing OK. No real rehab for this kind of thing. It was disk tissue removal. No muscle issues or anything. Later down the line, I have two options disk replacement or fusion. Sounds like fun. Therapy has been to basically lay or sit on my arse. Only thing I can do until the tissue heals some.
Unfortunately I may have to sell the ski. Over 40% of the disk is exposed now. You have a cartilage ring on the outside that holds the gooey insides in. I blew the cartlige ring and the insides were pertruding and rubbing raw nerves. So without the ring intact now, anything I do with my back could cause a blow out. So getting bounced up and down on the ski isn't an option. We haven't decided yet. But if anyone is in the market for a nice sit-down, shout at me. I wouldn't reject a fair offer at this point. Need the money for the medical bills that are rolling in. Totally blows. But it is what it is. Hate to take it away from the family but can't see paying that much for something I can't use.

Buy a standup. You can still ride, and use your legs more to absorb the stress on your back. Sure, you won't be doing BR's or backflips, but at least you can get out there and enjoy the water still. Or buy a boat. Don't give up on living because of it. The fusion surgery is better than it was years ago- your mobility may be limited but not so bad it will cause you to be bedridden.

Buy a pontoon boat and outfit it with a gril, kegerator, stereo and blender.
