Custom/Hybrid New WDK Envy hull Yamaha Based build

New WDK Envy hull Yamaha Based build/ Minor Winter Refurb

I recieved this hull back just before Christmas. Thanks to Jeff at WDK for getting it together for me. I will be running a 5mill 828 Team Scream engine, with the 144mm Yamaha pump in it.
Finally starting to get to work on it. Got just about all my parts here now. So figured I should start a build thread.

Some pics of its arrival.

Thanks guys. I can't hardly wait to get this thing on the water.

Here are a few more pics. I had to find my SD card for my Micro sd to fit in to get these off my phone.

A few of it setting in the shop after un crating it. One or two of it mocked up with the engine and pump all set in; just too see how well things were going to line up. And I have to say it all fit pretty much flawless. Motor looks to set back farther than my SXR, but that will just help in rotation on flips hopefully.:scratchchin:
As for the Yamaha pump shoe going into a Kawy pump cavity, well thats what I been doing the last few evenings and this morning. Thats where the other pics come in. I filled in the area between where the Kawy shoe would have went, and shaped it in nicely to meet up with the new Yamaha pump shoe. It all looks good now.

Looking good Brandon, I'm real anxious to ride your Envy with the yamy parts. Should be a lot of fun having 3 Envy's and a BOB riding together it should really push our riding level this year.

I agree, it ought to be real excitng this season! You know we'll be pushing it!:brap: With four of us having light hulls, and strong motors; it will keep it interesting to say the least.

project is looking good. Whats next?

Basically; I need to work on getting it painted at this point, I think?
I have everything to start putting it together so....except the engine which will go in last anyways, and I have my extra one to build it with and line every thing up if needed.
I guess I need to work on the SJ as well to get it ready to sell. Plenty to do too say the least. LOL!!

Thanks to mother nature, or old man winter I should say, I had a day off work today. So after shoveling thru the 15" of snow and snow drifts to the shop, I finally got to work a bit on the ski.
I made a 3mm thick spacer plate to go behind the midshaft housing to allow the bearing housing/and shaft itself to move freely as opposed to being tight up against the bulck head, and not moving when tightend up. Now its got plenty of give and movement like it should.
Also got the old stock coupler off, and the new, pretty, much lighter, and smaller cold fusion coupler on. :bling:

Something Jeff put in it. Not sure ? Looks good though, almost looks like what you would paint your garage floor with. Its just not gritty like that stuff, I really don't know what it is.

Its been a while since I have worked on the ski. But here is what I have done thus far tonight and this week. I got the rear bond line trimmed up, and cut flush off the back. Also got the tray cut out to clear the nozzle when trim is pulled. And got my X-metal pole in primer and sanded. That Black $h@t on their handle poles is some tough stuff!!! Was fun time sanding it. LOL!

All of the guys in our riding group " Southwest Mo Standups" know I totaled out my Tahoe back in October. For those of you who don't of course now you do.... I bought it back, and rebuilt it. So I had some extra paint left over ,and decicded to use the resources I had. I went with the old 69 Camaro's SS style on the Tahoe, and decided to follow that on over to the ski. Layed down the GM basecoat, followed by the Orange, then clear. So now I have a matching set up. Besides I can't remember the last time I seen a ski with Hugger Orange SS stripes LOL! So here are the pics from the last 24hrs. Enjoy.
