I loved the power and response of my Skidoo Summit 800 at 150hp stock , but try to cram twin pipes under the hood of a SJ. Hasn't the limitation with watercraft engines always been the exhaust?

Will the new pipes be stainless? What is the price range for the new chambers?

My only concern is if the new chambers are in the $500 price range will people buy enough to justify your time and expense? And is the performance of the pipe $500 better than a limited or mod superjet chamber? I'm just asking b/c I don't have any experience with this chamber. I do like the style as it makes the engine bay very clean and easy to work on.

Why not just grab a 1000cc snowmobile motor complete and make bed plate?
The arctic cat m1000 motor with little porting makes 200hp?
It's fuel injected so throttle response is awsome?
All you need is to make inverted fuel system so it doesn't suck air while doing inverted tricks!
Have turbo version of a arctic cat 1000 with 1200cc big bore kit making over 300hp

I thought it was an RPM issue. what rpm are these snowmobile engines turning? Isn't it difficult to make a jet pump work above 9000 rpm? Aren't all the 4 stroke couches runnign reduction transmissions to keep impeller speeds lower?

OMG though, seeing a 2 stroke turbo snow mobile makes me want to replace my waterbox with a turbocharger ;-)

why would you need twins, almost none of the sleds have twins on them anymore.
none of our motor kits use twins, we use singles on every mountain sled, better average power and not as altitude sensitive with single.
so we trade off couple peak hp for average hp.

1200cc twin cyl single pipe turbo 2stroke only turns 7800rpm.
312hp at 7600 and hits like a mule.

the rpm is the only reason i have not put one of my big busa motor in a superjet.
13000rpm is what they turn. but doesnt start making good power till 6500rpm.
but at 11000rpm it makes over 500!!

I only mentioned twins because that was the most common package we saw. I had a 2006 REV 151" with a 900 Crankshop Billet Cylinder kit and Twin Pipe setup on it and it was an absolute monster. I would love to have that kind of power in a ski. The acceleration was incredible and max revs was 7850rpm.

I also had a 2006 Phazer with a Torbo'd 500cc 4-stroke that made pretty decent power but the weight killed it. The turbo brought that 500cc engine up to 140HP but the REV had the 2-stroke 900cc and was 100lbs lighter still with way more HP.

My Sleds is what first got me into building up my ski engines. I'd ride all winter and get used to the power and acceleration and then come spring it was a total disappointment to jump on a jetski, pull the trigger and barely go anywhere.

I always asked why you couldn't get a watercraft engine to perform like a Snowmobile engine. I was so impressed with my Skidoo 800 compared to my Seadoo 951. I understand the physics are completely different between the two and the jet pump robs a ton of power, (130hp engine output nets 80hp out the pump) but the skidoo 800cc is rated at 150 hp while the Seadoo 951cc was only 130hp? :dunno:

"I will be involved with the testing, and will also have them available. Tim has gotten fired up about the sport again and has volunteered to to help develop a "stamped" version to reduce overall cost..

If you are interested, e-mail me your info and I will put your name on the "potential buyer" list. This doesn't mean you have to whip out your credit card, just let me know if you are seriously interested. The price will be near the current FPP pricing.

Hey Randy (from locked thread)...are you guys doing a complete pipe that will rival FPP's prices or just a chamber?

Now we got FP, Tim workin on pipes again and Baxter w/his new dry pipe.
People now have some options again. Absolutely NO dis-respect meant-but the B mod and limited are so popular and work so well, why not just make a version of the chambers that everyone loves and wants?

I priced the TNT pipe out some time ago to make in my shop and it wasn't really feasible with labor involved and the number that would be sold.

Cost of reengineering making a weld fixture making flat patters for the water jet forming each section purge weld and clean up. I came up with about $850 bucks per pipe and that was no profit. The idea was abandoned.

I would be interested in a pipe that makes as much power as everyone is saying the power factor pipe has with bigger motors but lets you keep the stock gas tank.

I ran a PFP pipe on my SS lamey and thought the b-pipe hit better on the low end. I ended up selling that pipe with my 927cc 66e.

The more I think about the TNT chamber the more I like the idea. Heck, if people are buying carbon copies of superjet mod chamber, why not a stainless pipe that offers better performance

I was looking into building some pipes with Randy at WATCON and the price per pipe was around $600-$650 cost. It's not cheap!

My personal opinion is to develop 2 pipes. 1 for the crazy big motors, and the other one for the average Joe with a lightly modded 701 at a very competitive price. If I could sell a pipe for about 450-500 usd to my clients they would buy a lot!
