NEW Steering cable.....

I know this has been asked somewhere but once again....is the Blowsion HD Cable better than just the stock 96-07 cable....I ask because I am going to do the update it on my 14 superjet with a new handlepole. Any thoughts???? Thanks my friends!!

I’ve put 2 blowsion hd cables on my 2 am hulls. One on a KP pole one on an xscream adjustable pole. It is NOT plug and play. You definitely need to be comfortable with grinding and light fabrication to makes these work. That being said, I love them. They have smooth action and are about twice as thick as the tiny stock cable (that always breaks at the worst time).

Not plug and play meaning that the cable is bigger so it's harder to install it....or not plug and play meaning the poles don't accept the HD cable?

Also I'm leaning towards the xmetal pole? Thoughts on that?

The Blowsion cable did not fit through the hole at the top of my WDK pole. I thought about drilling the hole bigger but without a 12" long bit it would be hard to reach.

I had to open up the cable holder bracket on my KP pole

And I had to fab a different cable holder altogether for the xscream.

You have to open up the pump bulkhead hardware to accommodate the larger diameter cable. I think it’s worth the trouble though.

Absolutely...wait, does anything stand up related just bolt right up?!?? OEM cable should go on with MINIMAL difficulty.

Thanks Gabe....isn't that the TRUTH!!! in theory it always does lol....tell you start unscrew the first bolt and it strips out....thanks for the help again!

A few extra quick question.....

1. I ended up with an 06-07 OEM Cable from @tomski (excellent service btw) so when i get the rest of my parts (xscream pole and steering) I will be installing...now i haven't opened or investigated anything with the cable but is there a certain way it goes? Is one end for the bars and one for the pump? Just want to get everything organized before i start ripping into it a bit.

2. Also, if anyone else has any advice on the install it would be awesome! Use of Loctite etc. etc. etc....

3. I did see that some people still move the steering cable at the nozzle inward even after the install of the new steering cable? Is this necessary? Will this maximize throw?

Thanks in advance!

There definitely is a “pump side” and a “handlebar side” on the cable. You’ll see when you get it and hold it up to the pole.
When installing, check as you go for routing, fitment, binding, interference, etc.
Most applications allow you to adjust how close to the pivot point the cable attaches, both on the steerer nozzle side and turn plate side. These adjustments enable one to “fine tune” steering response slower or quicker. Sometimes in aftermarket applications, interference may limit where you can attach the cable ends- refer back to the “check as you go” part above. As far as steering response goes, it’s personal preference and easy to adjust later.
I don’t use locktite on the cable itself. The jambnuts do a good job but check them every ride.
