no, he decided after living in fla for a couple of months he doesnt need one anymore...

he rode for 30 min like that.... I don't think anyone noticed

Hell, I rode lthe weekend before last w/o a helmet... they never even looked at me twice... I actually wrecked and had to be bandaged up by beach patrol (ripped a 10" gash in my leg). I ran up to the car and grabbed my helmet real quick so they wouldn't say anything...:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Sweet. I'm in this time. I felt like crap last time and showed up too late so I didn't get near enough riding in. It's about f'ing time I learn how to do more than hop my way past all the breaks and poke around in the wussy stuff. Someone please ride my ass about it and force me to learn.

We will be there this weekend also. Is anybody riding Saturday in St.Aug?

I'd like to bring the newly painted x2, but I'd hate to have to pay that $25 fee for both skis. :frown:

no worries... just pay for one and that will suffice... they don't check that close.... we do that all the time... especially in Ormond... I'll be riding up there saturday, if you are wanting to ride... they hardly even check for passes...

nick,pm me some directions to where this place is from st aug,I might come down and ride saturday, might not be able to make it sunday, how many guys are riding saturday and what time ya rolling out?

i wonder if the zone will be open this w/e? we might get a small craft adv. sometimes they let us ride anyway. anyone venture a guess.

In Ormond it won't matter... they will let us ride anyway... We'll have to get Robert to check out the scene in New Smyrna... they will definately not let us ride if there is a SCA, becuase beach patrol are a bunch of Nazis down there... It's like two different worlds.. So tenative plan will be to hit up Ormond instead of New Smyrna IF there is a SCA...

What's the plan for tomorrow? I saw a forecast for 8-11ft with a small craft advisory. You guys riding at Ormond? I may watch, but I don't think I have any business riding in that stuff yet. Might be a good chance to do flatwater before Lanier.

Ponce Inlet here we come.

We rode villano and matanzas,It sucked hard on the inside, but once we got out to the outside,we got to surf some of the hugest waves ive ever seen,ME and ewok made some top turns and dropped in on some waves that were easy 4 times over head,I was so wishing I had the helemt cam to shoot some crazyness riding for survival.waves just dont get that big in VB even in hurricanes,if they were that big on the outise there is no way you would ever get to them with out getting killed,I had no idea that a plain ole northeaster produced swell like this on the outside inlet????????? it was truly sicky!

The waves were totally insane, off the hook, silly, stupid out of control... I have seen bigger there, but not nastier. It was truley dangerous and quite intimidating. There was sooo much water moving around... The biggest set was a solid 15ft, just off the hook. I was having trouble finding a wave small enough to do a flip off of... I finally found a safe spot to do some, but it was tough... some waves would be 10ft w/ 2 sec period it seemed... so if you tried something the following wave would get ya... Ted, Robert, and Myself rode about a tank of gas each... fun day!!!

On a side note: A dude did get killed on a sitdown... got pounded into the rocks... same old story... Rental, no experience, no business being there... very sad for him and his family... His buddy was very shook up.... it was a bad scene at the boat ramp....

It seems that the surf tables have turned these last few weeks. I'd appreciate it if you East Coasters would give us back our surf, because ours sure has been lacking.

Any pictures from this weekend?

It would be almost impossible to get pics... we were 1/2 mile at sea
in condidtions that are difficult to describe... Ask Ross, he can tell ya what the inlet gets like... waves are not too pretty, but very large
