FX-1 New and confussed...prices

Just picked up a pair of skis for the family weeks ago (sx 750&650) and looking to start a on going project of my own due to this pwc bug I've caught. Found a 95 fx hull with pump only. $500 a decent price? Anything else in the ad worth picking up for such a project?

I dont know much about that engine setup hopefully someone will chime on it but the hull and pump for $500 is totally reasonable. If I lived remotely close I would be on my way to pick it up

Remember guys new to this whole pwc thing so i down have the spare parts inventory you all do... would this be a feesable build or would I be better off getting a sn 753 piped and ready to ride with new turf for $2000? Really like the retro fx1 look thow.

That square is a good deal too. Getting the fx1 to run would be easy. You would just need to buy a couch with a 701 package and use it as a donor. But if it seems too difficult to do that, buy the square and go have fun.

Or you can buy both and transfer all the parts from the square to the fx1.

900 Wave Raider base with Rotec cylinders and head. aluminum flywheel with MSD ignition, billet twin carb intake. Engine runs good, ignition needs work and set up. Riva dry pipe with mounting brackets.
$300.00 for pipe and manifold.
$500.00 for engine.

Hmm I wonder if this combo would actually bolt together with small modification... You know pipe motor mounts, output shaft, plumbing, the whole nine yards? Anyone ever heard of such an engine combo? Looked everywheres...

Listen to this guy he knows a lot more than me.

It looks like he was trying to part this out as if it had been together at one time so I'm sure it has been assembled at some point

The $500 hull includes gas tank, intake grate, ride plate, etc? Basically everything but the motor? If so, then that is a decent starting point, but I'd want to end up at $400. Once you start having to buy hoses, tank, intake, midshaft, or plate, it isn't such a good deal.

The motor is probably a solid deal, but I wouldn't run that pipe in an FX-1. Pick up a Factory pipe w/ mod chamber, or run a stock exhaust, which you can pick up for cheap/free. Or, you can pick up a 701 raider for under $1000, use the motor and part out what you don't need.



FX-1s are fun, but not everyone likes them. They handle and feel similar to a 550 kawi.

Buy a SJ. Save yourself some time money and sanity just buy a SJ.
