I think you guys are making this too complicated. I have been following this thread and I see you guys running back and forth. Yes, there are lots of choices. That is for just about everything that does not require a doctor/surgery (then you have a limited choice).
1) Frequency:
Will you be painting every day for a month? More than 10 times per year?
If so, buy a better gun. So, Husky/CH -> Harbor Freight
2) Volume:
How much will you be painting? A PWC, 2 PWCs, a helmet, 4 cars and an RV?
If 4 cars and an RV, buy an even better gun. Upgrade that HarborFreight -> Sharpie or Devilbliss maybe SATA if 4+ cars or boats or RV or ...
3)
Budget!!!
Set how much you want to spend. Then make a decision based on what is in your price range. You are going to need an inline filter and 2 tips (1.5 & 1.8) any way. That is decided. Case is nice, but so is a $4 Rubbermaid container @ Wal-Mart.
I have not ever painted anything but all the gun recommendations seem like a good SAFE choice. So unless you are
Daylite67 (see his userpage) or have an unlimited budget, get the Finish line 3 or Sharpie Finex. Choose the combo at the lowest price that will best suit your needs.
Also, remember that you will not be painting in a paint booth where outside air is filtered into the room and sucked out at floor.
