My buddy's pump is has a chunk missing from one of the veins. How much will this impact the performance of the pump? Can you just file it smooth for the time being without having to send it for repair or replace?
Don't trust it without fixing it, send it to impros, they did mine cheap. I dinged one and then it started overheating the motor, never forget that cavitation means foam going to you motor, and air does not cool as well as water.
Just file or grind it to get rid of the sharp edges, it will be fine. I have run and repaired hundreds of pumps much worse than that, and they worked just fine. Even if you left it the way it is you would probably never notice a difference.
