i have a 93 580cc Seadoo Spi that I need to have running for July 4th weekend for my brother-inlaw... I haven't touched the ski in a year... The last time we had it out it broke down, apparently the prop some how became dislodged from the drive shaft... The shaft still spun but the prop just stayed still... And before that occured, it was giving me I believe it was a fuel problem, not sure though... I cleaned and rebuilt the carb, changed the fuel filter, and it still kept bogging if you tried to give it full throttle... We had to keep pulling the throttle in out rapidly in order to get back to the ramp...

Please help...

I appreciate it Gentlemen & Ladies...

Piece,

Vincenz

Go to PWCtoday, and post in the seadoo forum, or PM Bill O'Neil from watercraft magic. I'm sure he could shed some light on it for you. He's a bit of a seadoo know it all.

I would check fuel lines, and pulse lines, clip spark plug wires back, and retun.

Regarding the impeller, that particular model the drive shaft should have splines that fit into the impeller. there is some slip/movment front to back. There should be a rubber piece on the end of the shaft where it goes into the impeller. thats odd that the shaft spins but not the impeller.. either the splines stripped, or the impeller side stripped.. Its a direct drive, so its gotta be on the impeller side. I would pull he pump and check it out. Your gonna need a pump puller, or fab one of your own, those pumps are really on there. there is a rubber cover on the impeller, thats just a cover though to hold the grease in, and water out. If you ride in fresh water, you dont really need the cover. Infact you will pic up a bit of speed with out it.

Thanx for the info bro, by any chance do you have a pic of a fabricated puller?

I had my wife fab me a puller at VA Tech's metal shop when she was an architecture student. :arms:
Or you could just use 2 old lawn mower blades. :)

I think 96 and newer used a neoprene type gaskit, which made it easier to pull. The older ones, just sat in and had a bead of silicone, or the like around it, which made it alot harder to pull. I can never pull it with out the puller. I just unbolt everything, and then run up to the dealer and they pull it off for me with there tool. I need to get my own puller though.

Vince, i might be able to look at it this weekend on saturday... my riding plans are temp. put on hold if i have to watch my sister... she's having surgery tomorrow and i might have to stay home with her instead of riding. if it's on a trailer and u can get it to me, i can look at it and more than likely diagnose the problem for ya
