I am going to add a thread to the tech faq so I need a complete list of parts that you are going to need to get this swap done.

stuff that I know you need include

701 61x cylinder
701 Cylinder head
piston kit
61x or 62t cases*
intake manifold
dual carbs if you go that route (the 650 Mikuni SBN has different fuel circuitry than a 701 SBN. I used both on my 701)
reeds and reed cages
Gasket kit

*if you got 62t you will need another 44 sbn carb
One thing to make note of, is if your using 62T cases and using the stock carbs and manifold from a 62T, the stock square throttle cable doesn't work so well. For me atleast, when used a hot products finger throttle with my swap, the finger throttle would bottom out on the handlebar grip before allowing the carb butterfly to open all the way, not matter how I adjusted the throttle cable... The way I fixed this was using a hot products adjustable throttle drum.

the 650 elects will run with the 701's...lower rev limiter but on the other hand you have the lighter flywheel from the 6m6 motor. I like running my 6m6 electronics with my bigger motor, RPM is what kills motors...i still dont know how people are running 7500 + rpm

elecs are fine, other than that you need everything but a crank and carb.

Easier to list what you dont need
carb
crank
electrics

everything else must GO.

depends on how you are approaching the swap - if swapping a complete motor - the list is shorter

if building a motor from scratch (or from nothing) the list is significantly longer

I did this last year, and just sold the 6m6 short block to put towards a new crank. The carb and crank are the only 'motor' parts you can switch over to a 701. The flywheel, stator, and ebox will work. All the bolts and bedplates will work too. OEM bolts will cost around $100 from the dealer. Things you'll need are

701 cylinder
Cylinder head
piston kits
61x or 62t cases
intake manifold
dual carbs if you go that route (the 650 Mikuni SBN has different fuel circuitry than a 701 SBN. I used both on my 701)
reeds and reed cages
Gasket kit

Exhaust manifolds will bolt up, but the ports might not line up exactly. I had a Coffman Sizzler pipe on my 701 for awhile, and it worked fine without grinding on it.
