My next motor... Opinions?

Building a new motor for my RN and i'm not exactly sure yet what to go with...

my options are: 701 - with a bit of porting, or 760 - stock.

This boat will be in the surf. I only plan on running a single carb on either set up. I rode a couple boats this past weekend with 760's and they had some great bottom end. Opinions on which set up to go with would be greatly appreciated!

people dog the 62t 760 for flatwater, but they say it makes a nice surf platform. that being said, i love my ported 62t 760, and i ride flatwater, dont think you can go wrong with the 760. Also ported vs nonported your going to most likely get more life out of the stock 760 v. the ported 701

Art at Jetworks.

For the surf i am having him port my cylinder for low end, and also he is port matching my head pipe and ex manifold.

I will be running a Single Black Jack 46mm carb on a Riva 62T conversion manifold.

Obviously I haven't ridden it yet, but working with Art so far has been great.

Keep it local, that way if your having tunning issues, you can take it to Art and have him power tune and be on your way.
