My new ski...................he he he

That was only my second day on that lash up....and last come to think of it. (its been raining hot water lately.)
The ride is awesome. Full dirtbike suspension. You can lay it right over in a turn. And side hills like a sum beotch. Climbing steep hills and it's wheelie city.

Havent been in more than a foot yet with a good base.
Seen video of a couple dudes in 3ft+ , but I bet it's gotta be the fluff though.
Its not a replacement for 2-skis, but a damn fun alternative.

Not to hijack your thread, but my 'standup fix' for the off season is this:
http://www.goped.com/products/gtr/default.asp

I like it because you are still standing on a 'deck' etc. Best of all, you can almost do it right out of your front driveway! I do live in cali, so i dont have sno, I suppose if i had snow it may be a bit different.

How much do the bike conversion kits cost? How much do you think you have in the whole thing?

Seeing your 'bike sled' compared to a normal sled, I would say its like a motorcycle vs a quad. Neither (i got a motorcycle and quad) still quite give me the feeling of a standup like the trail ripper does.

I have a snowbike conversion, too. A YZ125 with an ATTRAXX kit and my own ski design. Horrible in deep snow, and difficult to master on trails. You have to be very carefull of crossing pavement, or you'll be laying on the ground faster than you can say "soil sample".

That poor 125! How long does a clutch last?

A new 2moto kit is like $3900. Got mine with 12 hrs on it for way less.
Bike is an 06 525 dualsport with 450 miles on it, got it used as well. Switching back and forth takes a couple hrs.

does it stay up like a motorcycle or could you fall over at high speed like on a standup?

it looks cool. I really dislike how regular snowmobiles lean to the left when you turn to the right in powder. Plus they weight a ton

It stays up just fine. I was worried about the gyro effect before I tried it. It also has an 11" wide track with 2.1" paddels. The edges of the track have certain radius so when you lay it over, it doesn't feel like your on an abrupt edge. When I want to turn my snowmobile on anything but hardpack I quickly turn my bars the opposite way I want to turn to get banked over on one ski and let the ski do the carving.
